Sometimes I worry about my friend "The Don Quixote of Fish Biologists", for he doesn't let go of his life's mission of heightening the public's awareness of environmental issues...this mass extinction thing being just one (although when it's all said and done, it's just indicative of what the future holds for the human race).

Boy - it's hard to imagine that not only have so many people been duped (actually conned)...they couldn't care less because all they wanted was for Hillary to not get elected. Yes, a high proportion of Tump's fans despised both Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton so much that Trump's bizarre shenanigans (and that's being kind) don't even make them bat an eye.
For those with a sense of humor, which I have, you gotta love how so many of your politicians use the term, “I’m not a scientist”, and then go on to disregard what scientists are telling them regarding matters of great concern.
A specter is haunting American environmentalism – the specter of failure.
All of us who have been part of the environmental movement in the United States must now face up to a deeply troubling paradox: Our environmental organizations have grown in strength and sophistication, but the environment has continued to go downhill, to the point that the prospect of a ruined planet is now very real. How could this have happened?
Informed by great people - WTF happened people (and I'm not necessarily talking during just the past few months)?
Life is getting crazier than fishin'...I mean fiction.
Can you believe this? I know that Trump doesn't believe the CIA, but if he doesn't believe them now - how is his relationship going to be with them a month from now? I guess that all depends on who he selects to head that agency up.
After watching Tom Shadyac’s* documentary titled I Am, in which he asked some of your world’s greatest thinkers the following questions 1) What’s wrong with the world, and 2) What can we do to make it better?
I know that I've been coming down hard on you humans lately about your difficulty in agreeing with each other (among other things) - and I won't even remind you of the meaning of Homo sapiens like I've occassionally done.
I want to take this time to highlight a projet in which you have come together and helped us fishes out. The Forest Service and a local contractor - and I'm sure some other local entities - have all come together for the benefit of salmon and other fish species on the Tongass National Forest.
Kudos to all of you!!
Here's an interesting interview with Megyn Kelly on NPR discussing the influence that Donald Trump has with his tweets and actions. Here's an excerpt: The c-word was in thousands of tweets directed at me — lots of threats to beat the hell out of me, to rape me, honestly the ugliest things you can imagine. But most of this stuff I was able to just dismiss as angry people who are trying to scare me, you know.
Hopefully some day these guys will be plentiful just like they used to be...relatively speaking.
